2020 Edward Moritz Lecture in History with Lewis H. Siegelbaum, PhD

Bumping Up Against Ukraine as a Historian of Russia

K Alumni and Friends: Join us virtually for the 2020 Edward Moritz Lecture in History featuring twentieth century Russian and European Historian, Lewis H. Siegelbaum, PhD, Jack and Margaret Sweet Professor Emeritus at Michigan State University. For this virtual event, he will examine his body of work as it relates to that part of eastern Europe that became the Ukrainian SSR in 1919 and an independent state in 1991. Labor history, family history, Jewish life, the Holocaust, seasonal migration, Soviet politics and the collapse of that multinational state course through the talk, suggesting the multiplicity of ways Ukraine has affected and been influenced by these themes across the twentieth century and beyond the millennium.
